REGIONAL / LOCAL  EVENTS & NOTICES

Here is a very important message update from Activity Director Rhonda Grey regarding the results of her Center's State Survey !

****************************************************************************

"We just completed our annual survey. I am happy to report that we were deficiency free for activities, but in my 19 years of working in Activities, my department has never been scrutinized to this degree.

Please put the word out there that I really think they are focusing more on activities. My staff was questioned on their knowledge of their residents. Surveyors were focused on residents who do not attend activites, documentation of the residents participation in activities, particularly 1:1's, checked that the initial assessments were comprehensive and what do we do for our residents with mental retardation. They observed several group activities.

This year activities were truly under a microscope"

Participants will also receive, a copy of the book I Care: A Handbook for Care Partners of People with Dementia, and certificate of completion from AMI.

We would love to have you join us for this important training opportunity, or for you to share it with colleagues, and friends who may be interested.
